i think the travel systems are great. i mean yea they will grow out of the carseat but it so easy to just put the baby in the carrier in the house and carry it out to the car and put it in the base and go. when you get where you need to you just pull the carrier out and put it in the stroller or if your just going in someones house you just take the carrier in so you wont wake them if they are sleeping and its somewhere to put the baby down in if you are in someones house who dont have things for kids. and the stroller they can use for a long time my 3y/o gets in his brothers [who isnt here yet] and he fits fine, but we did start using an unbrella stroller when he turned 2 but they are great for storage space [[diaper bag - shopping bags if at the mall]]

I think you'd better get one.

I do not like the travel systems. For one, I do not like the bucket seats. I prefer to put baby directly into a Britax Boulevard carseat. (albeebaby.com) Also the wheels on the travel system strollers flat out stink. I prefer a three wheel jogging stroller. Costco has a great one for a little over 100 dollars.

I also had a diaper genie for a short time before I began cloth diapering. I did not like the genie either! It was a pain and pointless, really. Just throw your diapers away in a basket next to where you change your baby and toss the bag in the dumpter at the end of each day. Easy and simple!

I really think the only things you *need* to buy before baby comes are:
a sling
a boppy
a stroller
a carseat
and maybe a swing.

That's it!

I've used both Diaper Genies and Diaper Champs, and I loved the champ! Much easier. And you don't have to keep opening the pail all day long as with a regular diaper pail and letting that pleasant aroma into the air. :)
