@ what age did you start potty training your little one? I'm gunna start monday and any tip/tricks/success stories will great be appreciated!! Thanks!
18 months (a week before). We set a timer for every 45 minutes, and she wears big girl panties during the day/pull ups at night. She gets to put a sticker on her potty chart everytime she goes pee pee or poopy! She's been doing it a week and is doing well. She knows what the timer means, and if she starts going in her big girl panties she starts to say "potty" and walks to the potty!!
Make it like a game. Ask every 10 minutes. Potty?? Wee Wee??
And then take them to the potty and let them sit the for about a minute sit there with them and chat with them, encourage them to go potty. And if they go let them push the button to flush the toilet, do a little dance and clap your hands and sing "Hooray" Good job!!!
I started at 2, and shes getting the hang of it, knows when she needs to go sometimes she goes and sometimes she doesnt. Always always goes when we are out shopping, loves going potty in public toilets, dont know why but hay what ever helps her learn!
Alexis goes pee on the potty now but I have to take her there and she never tells me except once at the mall..and she has went poop a few time. I'm gunna try the 45 min alarm idea!
I tried starting Reid early. Actually bought him a potty when he was 16 months old. He's over 2 1/2 now and we're doing the 3 day method this weekend. I REFUSE to change another one of his diapers.
