Doc Visit (HcG Advice) Missing My Angels. 48 kids; Nebraska 39 posts

It looks like I may be pregnant with my third angel baby. Let me start off with the begining pf this pregnancy. On Aug 3rd, I went in for a pap smear. I was suppose to have my af around July 23. I talked to my doc about it. So he gave me a us. The lining of my utuerus was swollen & I had a cyst on my left ovary. (I had a mc in May, & had a cyst on my right ovary.) So he had me take a blood test. It was positive! My HcG was only 306. So he has me have a visit every week for atleast my first trimester. The next visit he did an us. I have the pic in my albums, everything looked normal for as early as it is. My next visit was yesterday. The us only showed the yolk sac. Its turning out just like before. My doc ran more blood tests. I have to take another tomorrow. He told me not to get too worked up since we dont know exactly how far along I am yet. Ao anyways, on Aug 3rd my HcG was 306. On Aug 5th it went up to 469.4. & Yesterday, Aug 20th it was only 1829. Shouldnt it be higher? Im trying so hard not to be worried, but its so hard. Id love any advice from you ladies!

Don't stress about numbers. In fact don't stress at all.....Easier said then done I know, but still

best piece of advice I ever got, Don't worry until there is something to worry about.

Right now you are pregnant and everything looks fine for the time frame you are at, you're not bleeding, passing clots, etc....So relax.

Hugs and good luck with everything!

I was told prepare to Mc or asked if I just wanted a d and c. That my baby was a blighted ovum.

Well I will be twentyfive weeks tomorrow with a healthy baby boy.

I refused to just give up and I'm happy I didn't

i think as long as the numbers are going up (nearly doubling) is GOOD :)

A normal pregnancy may have low hCG levels and result in a perfectly healthy baby. The results from an ultrasound after 5-6 weeks gestation are much more accurate than using hCG numbers.

HCG levels peak at about 8-10 weeks of pregnancy and then decline, remaining at lower levels for the rest of the pregnancy.

So I really wouldn't worry. The fact that your number is still going up is a good thing.

I've had 2 miscarriages and I'm on my fourth pregnancy. After the first miscarriage, I asked if I could have weekly blood draws to see how my progesterone and HCG levels were rising- at 4 weeks all they saw was the gestational sac, no yolk sac or fetal pole. And my numbers still rose till about 6 weeks when I actually passed the tissue. With this one, they're still doing blood draws. All my nurse has said are "numbers are numbers", they don't mean a whole lot. Did they do your progesterone levels? My OB told me anything below 5 is bad. Right now I'm at 14 (I think). Maybe they can perscribe progesterone pills, some times that'll help keep you from miscarrying.

You can always call your OB's office and ask to do what I think is called a quantitative for your progesterone and HCG. That should give them an idea of where your levels are and where they should be. Maybe you can get an ultrasound? I'm considered high risk, so my OB always does a u/s to confirm the pregnancy. Even at 4 weeks, he could tell that the pregnancy wasn't going to come to term, he saw that the embryo was starting to collapse and I was going to miscarry in a few days. Maybe they can check to see if the embryo is structurally sound too? Just throwing ideas out there.
