i was in the ER 4 times last week, with bleeding. 3 days doctors did ultrasounds and exams and said everything was still fine, and my little one still had a heartbeat. i made my way to the hospital for the 4th time after passing a very large clot (that appeared to be tissue). doctors did both an internal ultrasound, and a regular ultrasound. now im no doctor, but on both ultrasounds i thought i saw the sac with the small fetus inside. after reviewing my ultrasounds the doctor came in and said "it looks like your having a miscarriage." i was so emotional i didn't even ask any questions and just left. now a week later im kicking myself for not asking anything.. did they test the clot, what did the pregnancy test say,, what was that on the ultrasound screen? can anyone give me advice on this.. i have a doctors appointment this friday, but im so anxious. i know there is always a possibility of carrying twins and losing one.. but they never said anything to me! im so stressed, has anyone every experienced anything like this? is there still hope that maybe there is a baby still? PLEASE HELPP!!

First of all, they shouldnt have just let you leave, especially if they really thought you were having a miscarriage. But I wouldnt get your hopes up until you have blood work done and the doctor tells you he can see the baby on the monitor with the heart beating and everything is ok. Im so sorry.

They didn't tell you anything or is it because you didn't ask them anything? Most ER's don't let you leave without discharging but I guess just wait until your appointment friday

well no i didnt ask, but all the doctor said was im sorry. unfortunately where i live it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to get welfare if you have a job (even if its a dead end job) which i do. so welfare was dragging their feet, even though i was pregnant. once the hospital figured that i probably wouldn't pay the bill if welfare didn't pick it up, i wasn't really a priority anymore. i called the hospital a few nights ago to ask questions, and again i was brushed off. that was another issue, i couldn't see an OB doctor until i had health insurance. i guess my issue is i still FEEL pregnant, and this is the worst stress everrr!!

If You do want to go see about whats going on I'd look for a free clinic because going to the ER a lot with no insurance could leave you in debt to your eyeballs.

I was pregant for twins and lost one. They told me at the ER that they believed I had lost the baby, but when I went to have an ultrasound there was still a tiny little squirmy peanut in there.

Make sure you write down all your questions you have! Believe me, its worth it. I would be at home having a million unanswered questions that I should have asked and get to my appointments and not remember a damn thing because I'd find out something else.

Good luck!

ok so update : 8.14.09 .. finally got to the doctors this morning, and it wasn't really much help! first of all the place was like a free clinic so the care, needless to say wasn't the best. first doctor came in and tried to tell me i didn't have anxiety .. which i do and have been diagnosed with for almost 10 years. but thats besides the point. she was an IDIOT! so they sent in a RESIDENT. she was actually more helpful and decided to do an internal ultrasound, while looking at the screen she told the nurse to get the doctor. ANOTHER resident came in, and couldn't make out the screen either. FINALLY the doctor comes in and says to both residents... "okay theres the cervix, theres the gestastional sac, and right there, theres the embryo." but this machine he says isn't up to date enough to really see much else. so a HUGE wave of relief comes over me... however he then goes over to my chart and says "oh wait this says miscarriage." Then ALL 3 leave. no answers, and i couldn't find anyone to give me answers. i called after i left and the receptionist wouldn't go get my file. she said to just relax until i come back on monday for MORE blood work. i swear i have no veins left .. they've poked me everywhere. so now im STILL up in the air.. and i honestly don't know if im pregnant or not? took a hpt earlier today and came back positive and i know it could be a false positive but that doctor made me look at the ultrasound screen and he pointed to the "embryo?" so now im more confused than ever.. ANY ADVICE!!??? thanks
