There is no modesty during or after birth! SarahCo 2 kids; Highland Township, Michigan 246 posts

Of course we all know that there is no use in trying to be modest when you are giving birth thoughI did try! I begged the nurse to let me put a blanket up to my knees like you see the woman on the Baby Story do... grrr... no such luck! They wouldn't let me! They said "oh honey you aren't gonna care too much about that when you start pushing". PSH... I still cared. What I didn't exprect was afteryou give birth they make you pee in this thing to messure how much you are peeing after birth the nurse burts in the door... while I'm seriously BUCK naked... and she asks if I need help putting on the huge granny panies and the pad/ice pack... well... normally I would have been like soooo embaressed for someone to see my like that but at that point... I was so sore and hey someone to help me put my underwear on was kinda nice....
Oh the things you never thought you'd do in your life... have someone else help you put on your underwear and pad! LOL
Anyone elseexcept such an offer after birth... lol

My nurse walked my to the bathroom because I was still a little woozy.. then she watched me pee & measured my pee & checked the pad to see how much I was bleeding. Fun times.

oh I know!! I remember sitting on the toliet while the nurse was literally changing my pad and showing me how to wipe myself. I just looked at her and said "you are such a great person to be able to do this everyday!"

I knew the labor would be one thing, I didnt realize the afterbirth would be worse!!

Haha! I know what you mean. I was a total prude while I was in labor.. I made everyone leave the room when they checked me and the doctor had to tell me to relax beacuse I wasn't really opening my legs. But when I was pushing I didn't care at all! I just layed there with my legs wide open and was like "GET THIS KID OUT OF ME".. and afterwards, it was really nice having someone help you put on a pad and your mesh panties because it hurt to be even trying to get them on yourself!

what was wierd for me was that I used on the other side of the fence. Then they had to do it for me. I hated that

i completely agree i was worried of just having my stuff exposed to everyone in the birthin room ... but i ended up haning a c-section which wasnt much better im laying there while the doctors have my gown pulled up while the cut me open talking about places to eat.... ahhh plus when the nurse is helping you learn how to breast feed and all kinds of people are just coming in and out of the room like nothing ... you kno dont worry bout me i just have all my goodies exposed lol... but i just gave up and i find theres was no use in getting upset over it.

I totally agree with you! I never thought that I wouldn't care that a nurse was watching me pee after I gave birth and help me put underwear and a pad on. Not to mention coming in to check my pad and bleeding afterward.

I had a c-section so I was layed on the big medal table naked and freezing while they hooked me up and strached my arms out like jesus on the cross. Then after having him I was trying to breastfeed and the nurses dont care they just come in so I was not allowed to have modesty. I wanted to put a blanket over but everyime I did he would fall asleep so I had to keep him uncovered
