Hi all. So kinda long but could use some advice! First of all I am on the patch (Xulane) and have been for about 3 years. Never had any issues. I know its super super rare to become pregnant on it. However its been a rollercoaster of emotions this past month. Few weeks ago I started bleeding which has never happened to me before (I only bleed during my patch free period week) and basically had a period that lasted 2 days. It was super weird because it only lasted 2 days, and I was about 2 weeks early for AF. After that I started getting the same pregnancy symptoms I had with my other kiddos. Slight nausea, sore b**bs, metallic taste in mouth, AF cramping off and on etc. I just had a strong intuition I was pregnant. Took a test bfn. Decided to wait till AF was due (which was sunday) and she showed up yesterday. Super light all day, but then today is like a normal period. Except a lot of my cramping is in my lower back, and I have pinching/pain around my belly button. I know the odds are way against me. But I just cannot shake the feeling I am still pregnant. Is it still possible? I know some woman have their periods during pregnancy, but I did not with my first 3. I just have this strong intuition that I am, and I can't shake it. Maybe that's just hopeful thinking? Not sure why my b**bs and other symptoms are still present? Just feeling kinda down I guess, and hoping others have gone through something similar.

People don’t get periods while pregnant, though some do have cyclical bleeding. However, these people also get positive tests. A true period is the shedding of the uterine lining which a pregnancy is attached to, so that wouldn’t end well.

Could be something hormonal going on. Reach out to your doctor if symptoms aren’t improving.
