I have a custody hearing scheduled for a month away, I was wondering if anyone has been through one and if so, could you give me some insight about what to expect? My lawyer hasn't told me much of whay to bring or how I can prove my son's father isn't who he says he is. I am also trying to relocate so if anyone has been in a relocation hearing could you tell me more about that?
no really experience with custody or relocation hearings since i had already left the state when custody came up and we both agreed the kids should stay with me since they were so little but i do have experience with messy visitation issues...so i just want to say good luck and if you need someone to talk to i can try and help
Thanks, I am only trying to move 30 minutes away in the same county, but it's still an issue. I just wanted to know what to expect and what "evidence get a brought up to be a bit more prepared. I have one meeting with my lawyer before it happens.
I would screen shot every text, print out every email, only communicate with your ex about the child/children through text or email...I learned the hard to get it all in writing...if you can't print it ask you lawyer if they need it and then email it to them...and you are going to need some way to back them up so you have them for the future...and it sounds like you will need them again if you are getting a hard time with only moving 30 mins away...
