Neck Lump. Update. Team❤Pink 3 kids; 4 angel babies; Maryland 4721 posts

I wrote a post earlier this week about having pain in my neck and being able to feel a lump. I just got back from the doctors and I'm freaking out. They felt a thyroid nodule along with swelling of my muscle  (doctor thinks the mass is putting pressure on that muscle) on the side I am having the pain. She said it feels rather large and she referred me to an ENT for bloodwork and an ultrasound. Anyone have one before? I need some reassurance because now I'm convinced it's cancer!

My dd2 had a huge lump on her neck a couple months ago. It was so huge she looked disfigured. I took her to her pedi the same day and they did bloodwork and an ultrasound to check her lymph nodes and make sure it wasnt cancer. Everything came back just fine. They said it was an infection and put her on strong antibiotics. And within a day or two she was fine. Im sure you'll be fine too. Positive thoughts your way!

Thank you.
I tried to get the doctor to say it was an infected gland/lympnode but she was certain it's a mass on my thyroid. I went in hoping for just a course of antibiotics but nope.
I'm glad your dd is fine. How scary that
must have been!

I'm sorry mama, I know it's scary.

Why on earth would your doctor not have ordered labs and ultrasound herself, and THEN referred you to ENT or Endocrine?? UnknownThat's ridiculous.

I don't have a primary doctor,  I just go to an urgent care facility.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that in my post.

Thank you.

Girl, get yourself a good doctor! Best of luck to you. Try not to stress too much, it could still literally be nothing! ♡

Thank you. It was terrifying. I cried all the way to the doctors office. Preparing myself for the worst. I wouldn't freak out yet until you get your ultrasound. Better said than done,  i know! Praying everything turns out fine for you!

I know, I need to get one. Just pure laziness and procrastination on my part. I'm trying to stay calm but i tend to be a worrier.
Thank you.

My OB wouldn't and make me seek out of my own endo. It's bizarre the way it works.

OP- hopefully it's nothing. Most thyroid nodules are not cancerous. Good luck, I know it's scary..

I had a knot on my neck and it started to grow, ended up being a non cancerous tumor. They were able to remove it with surgery.  They just made sure it wasn't tangled in my spinal cord or anything. ( not sure this is helping easing  your fears though )

I have like 6? thyroid nodules they've grown over the years and I have graves disease apparently but can't find an endo to treat me within the next 6 months.

Oh, wow! How did you find yours? Were they causing you any pain? My one lump is so painful. The pain is also now in my ears.

Stories of non cancerous lumps is exactly what I want/need to hear and that makes me feel better.
