2 days ago my 5 year old vomited when she woke up. She ate cereal and had no appetite the rest of the day. Since it is inventory this week I couldn't call in but I set it up where she would only be at the sitters a few hours before my boyfriend got off work. She vomited again right before he picked her up at 6. Yesterday she didn't vomit at all but barely had an appetite only ate some cereal and some yogurt. This morning she has vomited 4 times in 2 hours. She is sipping water and just says she doesn't feel good. No fever, no other symptom's but today seems to be the worst? Do you guys think it's just a bug or should I try to get her in to see the dr today since it's Friday?
Also I've thrown up twice this week and have diarrhea but feel fine.
Water is the worst when you are vomiting. Maybe try some ginger ale or something to settle her stomach. It sounds like a bug. My youngest did that this past fall. She would only vomit when she was sleeping. Made for a very scary week. You can always call the doc and see what they say.
There's a stomach bug going around here. Seems to be lasting about a week in everyone who is getting it. I would just watch her intake and output and if they dwindle down then go to the doctor or if she gets a high fever. Dh had a stomach bug for a week. It was horrible he lost 15lbs that week all water weight.
I dont think id rush to the dr for vomitting a few times. I agree with a PP, stop the water, give ginger ale, sprite, pedialite, etc. Hope she feels better soon!
Only problem is that I can't get out to get anything because I'm home alone with her. I didn't pick anything up yesterday because I really thought it was just a quick little 24 hour thing that had already passed. All I have that could possibly help is children's pepto.
I can't really take her to the grocery store.
Sounds like a stomach bug. Pedialyte and gatorade to replace those lost electrolytes from vomiting. Hope she feels better soon.
My 5 year old daughter had a stomach bug a few months ago and wouldn't eat or drink anything. I had to take her to the er 2 times for fluids, the second time we found out she had pneumonia on top of the stomach bug. As long as she's able to keep sips down I wouldn't worry to much. If there's a gas station close by I would go there to get here ginger ale and gatorade so you don't have to bring her to to the grocery store. Hope it helps and she starts feeling better!
Do you have popsicles? That can keep get some liquids in her.
My boyfriend was able to bring pedialite and jello home inbetween calls, and it helped immediately. She hasn't gotten sick since. I'm off worth the next 3 days so hopefully she gets over it and I get the house clean enough that no one else catches it.
My daughter had it with hives and then the poops as well. It's a virus that's going around unfortunately. I did take my daughter to the doctor because of the hives and I didn't know what it was from but then it all started to make sense when she started throwing up and the nasty poops. She's 2 and also wouldn't eat or drink anything but water and gingerale( since I didn't have anything else so judge me all you want lol)
I would say probably a virus. Hope she feels better asap
