how did you get your sons to poop on the potty? Ds1 was 41/2 almost 5 and out of Pre k by the time he would poop on the potty and then still had accidents when he would get caught up in something like playing outside until he turned 7. Ds 2 is now almost 41/2 and is completely bladder trained except when he has to poop. Ive tried putting him on the potty, potty charts with big rewards and small. He just wont go. He holds now for days when before he was going once a day without problem. please help. i feel like i'm failing him and this is something that should be so easy but yet im to dumb to figure it out.

All of my kiddos pooped in the potty when they were bladder trained.. So i dont have any advice from personal experience.

But, i used to work for a dr. And he told me that his grandson had an issue with it. They let him play in the warm bath for about 20 mins, then they would sit him on the potty, and it would work. Apparently it had something to do with helping him relax *shrug* worth a try!

I had my boys pick out nice undies with characters and such on them, special undies, explaining to them we must go in the potty, or we will ruin our amazing, awesome, cool, best ever undies. Upon having an accident, I have them watch me (as I explain) put the accident-poop into the toilet and very upsetedly throw the special, astounding, incredible undies in the trash, oh such sadness, we must take care to poop in the potty so that our nice things do not get ruined and thrown away :( :( :(

Etc etc etc

Took a couple times, but worked for both kids.

I hadn't thought of that with this one...I tried that with ds1 but it didn't phase him...he didn't care about anything only seeing other kids not mess their pants ever worked for him....I think this might work for DS2 though...thanks
