Sad..bed rest. Loca Mamma 4 kids; 4 angel babies; Tucson, AZ, United States 1572 posts

I went into the ER for some cramping, thinking not much of it just wanted to make sure, given my history. So they did all the blood work, ultrasound etc. So now I am on bed rest and can't left anything over 10lbs! The doc said she couldnt see a baby yet but that my levels were low, meaning I am prob really early in my pregnancy or something is wrong. Well i guess now she wants to be extra cautious and now I am suppose to have my levels checked to make sure they are raising. So now I have a feeling I am going to be treated as high risk?? I dont know. But has anyone not seen much early on and been ok? TIA.

If your due date is correct, then no they wouldn't see anything that early on except a gestational sac and maybe a yolk sac

Seems premature of her to put you on bed rest before actually seeing a baby or any placenta conditions. I had two back to back losses before finally having dd3 and my doctor never restricted me in early pregnancy cause it's unlikely anything strenuous I did or would do would be a cause of a mc that early. Typically early mc are due to chromosomal problems.

Thank you and I am only a lil over 4 weeks. She seemed like it's prob just because I am early, but given my history wanted to make sure my levels were gping up.

I agree... my first pregnancy I was 5 weeks and I couldn't see anything except the gestational sac.

Ya I know what u mean.  I am sorry for your lost. I had 3 miscarriage n 1 D&C with twins,I know with the twins I had some hormonal balance issues, I remember  I was on meds. So maybe that Why? This is all new to me being on bed rest.

Unless you're bleeding profusely or legit can't breathe, I'd recommend seeing an OB over an ER for any pregnancy concerns.

So..some of said you saw a sac but she said she couldnt really see anything. The ultrasound lady said my bladder is suppose to be full so she can see better, but I dont know if that has anything to do with it. I am sure everything is fine...but this is my first time having this happen this early.

At my 4 week they couldn't see anything. No baby or sac. She wasn't concerned tho. Scheduled an ultrasound at 7 weeks. And when I had that I seen sac and baby! Good luck momma. Try not to worry. Are you pretty sure or your LMP? Or ovulation?

Thank you and I am glad to hear of a sucess story. I am pretty sure of my LMP but i wasn't keeping track of when i ovulated. I tested really early, like 4 days before my period.

If she's doing an abdominal scan, yes.  But I've never seen a doctor attempt an abdominal scan that early because it's not as clear of a picture and if they're using ultrasound to try to diagnose anything they should have done transvaginal

I don't think you'll be treated as high risk just because of some cramping in early pregnancy. Was there bleeding too or just cramping? I always had bad cramps early on, sounds pretty normal so I'm surprised they put you on bed rest for that.
