What if there's no legal father on the birth certificate
i just want to remove one of his 2 middles

With our first two, we took a list of our favorites so we could decide for sure when we saw him/her. With this one, probably the same will happen because nothing seems right yet.

Sure, thinking about it some more, I like the meaning behind Holden, I still like Roman and Conrad more though. Embarassed

That's what we did. We had our top names and picked which one suited him when he was born

I've always loved the name Milo.

I think I'll do this.

when you had your son, was it pretty easy to choose a name from your list? As in, did he look like one name in particular? I'm scared of him looking like he could be any of my names!

As soon as we saw him, we knew which name to pick. We narrowed it down to two names, but I brought the original list of 11 names just in case.

That is reassuring to hear! I'm hoping that I'll feel the same way when my son is born and that one of the names will just feel right!

Another idea is to just go with naming him after my father. Thing is, I'd be okay with him being called Billy as a baby and child but when he's older, I'd only want him called William... not Will, not Bill. And I'm afraid with so many nicknames with William.. he'd end up with one! I'm okay with Liam and actually like it s lot but it's just so dreadfully common!

My oldest son is Gregory. No one calls him Greg. And he hates to be called Greg. If you call him by that name, he will probably go by it.
My brother is a teen and still goes by Joseph. My cousin is also a teen and is still called Jonathan.

That's good to hear too! I have a cousin who's in his late 30s who just goes by Jonathan as well!

They're all great names, I'm completely torn!

My youngest right now was almost William Holden or William Milo, so I'm partial towards those two (We ended up choosing William August...our little Gus!)

I agree with making a list to take with you and choosing what you feel fits him.
