Urgent care worthy?? Lyla & Maxwell's Mommy 3 kids; 2 angel babies; Wisconsin 1576 posts

DS had a virus this week with a fever and congestion. He has been fever free since Friday but still isn't feeling better. His cough has gotten considerably worse and his glands are the size of an acorn. He also hasn't slept for than 4 hours since Monday night... Sigh

Does it sound like the end of a virus or should I take him in? I'm hesitant because he doesn't have a fever anymore but he is SO miserable.

WWYD?? Urgent care or wait it out?

I would wait and call his pedi in the morning. Or maybe call urgent care and see what they say.

He hasn't slept for more than 4 hours in 6 days Surprised or you mean he hasn't slept for more than 4 hours a night since Monday?

I'd wait until tomorrow. No fever is a good sign.

Well we took him in and the poor kid has a double ear infection and bronchitis. He's so happy when he's awake but will not sleep. Hopefully the meds kick in and help him feel better SOON.

My daughter is having the same symptoms :( I am going to call her pedi tomorrow if it continues but I think all the kids are fighting a virus this month

Oh no, poor girl! I agree DD was sick earlier this week too. We're ready for spring!  I hope your daughter feels better soon!

Bentley had a super high grade fever Wednesday/Thursday, to the point he couldn't even walk. couldn't get it under 100.9, it was spiking all the way to 103.6!!! finally back to normal temp and yesterday he started coughing violently.

We have a peds appt tomorrow, hoping his ears are clear. he's already had two back to back double ear infections last month.

poor kids! seems like everyone's getting sick.

Eat infections are the worst. Ds just had his tubes removed MONDAY and already has an infection. I hope the pedi figures out how to help your son feel better. It's always so sad to have sick kids!

he coughed ALL night, poor kid. His dad had really bad ears as a kid, and I think he managed to inherit it.... if that's even possible?
sucks because he's been on antibiotic back to back to back which isn't the best. it's been the amoxicillin bubble gum stuff, assuming they'll bump us up to the white chalky stuff (can't remember what it's called LOL)

Poor little guy!  Ear problems actually are genetic. I had a hard time as a child and DS has my ears. I hope his doctor appointment goes well!
