Today is Ds2's 5th birthday. I am so ready to just put him to bed no cake, no supper no gifts. He has been a total butt head all day. Demanding and rude. He has been mean and cruel to his sibilings,  talking back to me swatting at the dog. Just generally unpleasant.
He never behaves like this he is typically one of the best behaved, polite and sweet kids I have ever met. Somehow he decided he should be the boss today he has yelled at me and I am at my whits end!
Idk what to do but I just want to send him to bed.

My oldest was this same way on her 5th birthday just a month ago! She made me so mad, luckily(for her) she turned her behavior around by dinnertime.

I hope yours turns his behavior around!

Yikes! A complete sweet child, to an ass... I'd open the gifts myself and thank myself, while eating a piece of cake. Then I'd call it a day. Hope tomorrow is better!

I actually think birthdays are sometimes kinda stressful for little kids...big day, lots of excitment, expectations, different schedule. You want so bad for everything to be perfect. I'd model correct behavior and gently correct....but if this is not typical, then I'd say he might just be a little stressed or out of sorts.
