It's hard to get a good picture because he's so blonde. But is this cradle cap? He woke up with it today, wasn't there yesterday. He didn't wash his hair yesterday. Hasn't changed his shampoo. It's all over the top of this head, but not the back and sides. What can I put on it?

Cradle cap from my understanding doesn't just pop up overnight.  Both my girls have it and they are 1 and 2 years old and have had it since they were newborns.  Like once a month I put baby oil on their scalp and brush off the flakes but it always comes right back.  I had it as a newborn as well and still Battle it as an adult (I believe it's psoriasis or a firm of eczema I can't remember) .  My kids' doctor said we will start talking about special shampoos like t-gel for my oldest kid.

Pic won't load for me but if it's cradle cap, baby oil and a comb will help. I've also heard of people using Head & Shoulders or Selsun-Blue but those can feel weird on little kids heads so idk about that.

I don't think cradle cap happens that fast . My daughter had it as a new born and they dr told me to wash her hair frequently and use baby oil with a baby comb or soft baby brush to help lift up the flakes. Also to use head and shoulders or Selsun blue . I used Selsun blue but just like a dot on the tip of my finger and it worked. I wasted it everyday for a week and use oil after to keep her scalp from drying out from the washing . Some  said coconut oil is even better to use or olive oil.

I say it wasn't there yesterday, but what I actually mean is I didn't notice it yesterday, and if it was there I'm sure I'd have noticed it like I did today. So I presume it wasn't there yesterday. I'll try the head and shoulders tonight because we already have some of that in. Thanks!

It could just be dry skin

Doesn't look like it and it doesn't appear over night. I'd put some coconut oil on it and use a washcloth to kinda scrub I'm sure whatever it is will come right off.
