Was your daughter when she was potty trained? Dd is 18 months and will SOMETIMES come to me and say "pee" after she has already pooped in her diaper. My mother keeps trying to force me to potty train her, I have tried putting her on both a training potty and the regular potty and she is terrified of them both. She screams bloody murder and clings to me. I refuse to force her to do something she doesn't want to do or isn't ready to do. Ds was almost 3 when we finally got him potty trained. I'm honestly just getting sick of the unwanted advice and being told how to do things like I have no clue how to parent...

I'd say that was too early, especially since she doesn't seem to be exhibiting signs of readiness and is actually refusing the potty. The fact she's screaming is a clear sign she's not ready. I wouldn't make her.

DD was 2 and a half.

Dd was about 2 when she started, 2 and a half when she was completely potty trained. Ds1 was 4 by the time he was completely potty trained. If you force the issue, itll take longer than it should.

Thanks ladies! That's what I keep trying to explain. She's not showing signs of being ready to potty train. Her telling me she pee'd after she already pooped doesn't mean she's ready to be out of diapers. She isn't holding it and telling me she has to go. I googled when to potty train a girl and it said they show signs between 2- 2 1/2. We tried multiple times with ds and he was never potty trained until he was ready for it. I'd rather not traumatize my child to please my mother. That's just going to make the whole process harder and longer.

My daughter was 3 when she finally became potty trained. I kept trying and trying and nothing worked until she was ready

My oldest potty trained herself during the day by 18 months, and she was fully accident and diaper free by 2.

My middle had no interest in potty training until 2.5. He is not night trained and still has accidents fairly regularly. Just turned 3.

Youngest is 15 months and shows interest in sitting on the potty and in "wiping" but im not going to force anything.

DD1 was 2 1/2 - 3, DD2 was 2.8, a few days after I came home with DD3 she PT..HERSELF lol. I was sitting on the bed with DD3, next thing I hear DD2 yelling out for me, telling me she had done a pooh...I was so excited 38 and it went from there. 18 months is still a baby for gods sake! My DD3 is almost 17 months, no way is she ready. Tell her to chill out. Shy

DD was potty trained at 18 Months. However, she was ready. DS1 is 2.7 and not even close to being ready. DS2 is almost 20 months and also, not a chance lol it's only possible at 18 Months when they're ready, but that's the same with any age. If she's not ready, which she clearly isn't, don't even bother. There's no rush, especially at that age. Tell your mum to back off

Dd2 just turned 3 and is partially potty trained. She'll go pee pee in the potty but number 2? Forget about it. Its a work in progress. Potty train her when YOU feel like she's ready. No one else. Good luck.

Dd1 was 2-2.5. Dd2 started telling me she went poop or pee around 18. Around 20 months she started sitting on the potty. She will be 2 in2 weeks and has yet to actually go on it but enjoys sitting there then wiping herself and flushing the toilet. I figure it is good practice.

When it comes to PTing and my girls, they show me signs of being able to hold their pee and not have a wet diaper during nap times and what not. Dd1 I tried at 2 exactly and it was a bad bad idea. It stressed her and me out bcos she simply wasn't ready. I didn't make that mistake again with dd2. Dd1 was PT by 2.5 but wasn't night trained until close to 3. Dd2 was 2 years and I think 8 months and PT day and night within a few days. Dd3 is almost a year old so no where near ready, but I know I'll wait until I see signs of her being ready. Good luck, don't force it and screw what others say about it.
