****TRIGGER WARNING****

I can't sleep tonight. My mind is reeling from the events of the last few days. A few nights ago, a woman in a neighboring town murdered her two little angels and attempted to take her own life. Her husband had filed for divorce and full custody earlier that day and she stated she didn't want him to take the kids. I know her mother and have attended cookouts with her and the kids. She was a very sweet woman and never seemed the type to do such a thing. While I was upset and heartbroken like everyone else, I was able to go on with my days and push the thoughts aside. Until today....
FIL came over and was talking about it. He works with the son of one of the sheriffs who worked the scene. He started telling us details the sheriff had shared with his son. Horrific details they didn't release to the public. For good reason. I couldn't walk out of the room fast enough. So here I lay. Wide awake with the images of those poor babies in my head. I had to get out of bed and go to the bathroom so I could cry without waking up DH. I've never had an event like this shake me up so badly. Why did he have to tell us those things? Couldn't they leave well enough alone? The news has reported enough. It's been plastered all over every station and social media site. I can't stop thinking about it. I can't stop crying for those babies. Those sweet, innocent babies.

I wish these things never happened.Very Sad

That's so messed up, I always thought police officers couldn't talk about cases to family/friends, I guess not. That's so sad, I'm sorry he did that. Very Sad poor babies! Is she still alive? What a POS.

I think I heard a little about this on the news. Weren't the kids like 3 and 7?? The woman ( I can't call her mom, no mom would ever do such a thing!) called the police afterwards?? That's all I could listen to on the news.

I couldn't imagine harming one or both of my children!

Uhg. i hope someone tortures her in prision.

few years back we had a father take his baby to one of the higher bridges in the state and jump off with him. The baby died, but the POS father lived. The mother had even tried getting a restraining order saying she feared for the childs safety but the judge had denied it.
I hope someone takes care of him in prision...

Are you from CT? I'm in CT and we had the same thing happen, the baby was Aiden I believe. It was such a tragic story. I remember people were outraged for the longest time by this story and talking about how this judge is an a*****e.

OP I'm sorry that you had a tough night. Its hard when something hits close to you and involves children especially ones you've met.

Yes, that's the story. No one ever saw this coming. She was a very loving, sweet woman. There was no history of suspected child abuse, no criminal records, and no history of mental illness. It's a shock to all who knew her. Very Sad

I assumed that as well. And yes, she's still alive. Failed attempt at suicide.

Yeah.

The judges in CT try so hard to be liberal and foward thinking and all about the fathers rights that they blind themselves to the actual welfare of the children.
