My daughter had a ados test done and the only thing the neurologist said over the phone was her test came back negative for autism. But she has a lot of the signs and red flags for autism or aspergers. We go next week to talk to him more about his findings. Has anyone had this happen and come to find out the results were wrong?

What are the signs she has? Was it a pediatric neurologist? How old is she? DS1 assessment was pretty clear, his pediatric neurologist did the assessment and  formal diagnosis. But, you can always seek a second opinion. Depending on how old age is, you can set her up for an evaluation at a regional center. They're pretty good and thorough.

She is 4 almost 5. she has melt downs, night terrors, won't sit still, speech delay and lisp. She freaks out over lil things and has to watch same things n play same stuff or freaks out. Crowded places make her nervous. She won't hold contact for long with ppl and twirls when u talk to her. She eats non eatable things all the time. There are more things she does and she has episodes of anxiety that is so bad I can't go places till she calms down. She has a fear of brushing her hair and if she doesn't have certain clothes on or shoes she panics. Getting her up and dressed when she isn't ready is a big fight usually.

Did he mention any other possibilities? My son is moderately impacted by his autism and he doesn't do the things you've listed. Has she seen a child psychologist? How about a developmental pediatrician? Maybe try to have her seen by a developmental pediatrician, I think you might get more answers that route.

Not really he pretty much left it at that her test showed no autism. I'm suppose to go meet with him and discuss more. I never know how our day is going to go and she starts school in August and has separation anxiety. I will have to try one of them because she hasn't seen one yet . Do I have to be referred to one

Depends on your insurance. Check with your insurance first. Usually with a PPO you don't need a referral. I hope you can get some answers.

Thank you me too. The medicine she is on right now makes it hard for her to fall asleep now and it's suppose to help with night terrors
