My 5 Year Old With DS is MISERABLE after common surgery MissCarrio United States 50 posts

My daughter had her tonsils and adenoids removed last week.

She has been absolutely miserable this week.

At night she wakes up every two hours screaming and crying. Its literally a fight to have her take her medicine and get her nose suctioned. Her grandma and I literally have to hold her down and force her to swallow, its heartbreaking.

Usually I could mix her medicine in with a drink but shes only sipping he drinks and her appetite isn't back to normal yet.

We have a humidifier and air purifier in her room but it doesn't seem to be helping.

I'll take any advice at this point.

I know certain medications my pedi has suggested putting in chocolate pudding,  but if she has no appetite it sounds like you're going to have to force the medsUnknown. I use the syringe medicine droppers and have to lay DS back across my lap with his head back and squirt it behind his back teeth. There's really no great way around it Very Sad , hopefully she gets to feeling better soon!
