The day he was born. I didn't care to hear crap about his name. Plus we finally agreed on a name a week before he was born. But I never discussed names I truly loved with people I know.

I think he has a nice name! I don't see why the hell people care. He's your son!

Quoting Momma.Sunshine.:
When did you announce what you were naming your baby? My entire family knows. I have only posted the initials of the name on Facebook. With my first child, I announced it as soon as we figured the name out. This time, I've had a lot of negative opinions from the few people that I did tell. Part of me wants to announce it but part of me thinks that I'll just wait until the baby is born. The reason I would announce it is so everyone can get over what we are naming him & the negative opinions will hopefully be over once the baby comes. The name we decided on is Roman James.

In my opinion i actually love the name :) and about the negative comments people are always going to have something negative to say if its not one person its another person sadly thats just life but what you can do is decide whether or not to let the negative things control the way you feel. if you love the name and thats what you want then by all means go on right ahead :)

The only negativity I got with telling DD1's name was that it was too long (that I can remember anyway). But everyone putting their 2 cents in got annoying. so DD2 we kept a secret. Everyone knew she was going to be a Maggie and then later I told them we found Magnolia, but that was before I even got pregnant with her. We waited until she was born to announce her name because I didn't want to hear all the crap. Didn't stop my mother and aunt trying to push me to give her May or Grace for a mn.

I'm going to announce it when I get maternity photos done. But close friends and family already know.

We said initials only until birth, we didn't know the gender though lol. Boy initial was K and girl initial was J... so we had a "sweet baby KJ" until he was born.

When he was born! We had a fun game at my baby shower where I printed out a list if 50 names each for boys and girls (we didn't find out the sex) and everyone guessed. Only my best friend guessed correct but it drive people crazy! There were attempted bribes and everything. It was funny to see what people thought our taste was too.

I just do like Baby L (for our last name) until we get a gender and a name. Then I just do like Baby and what every letter their first name will start with. I don't do it because someone might not like the name, bc I don't care if they like it or not. Not their baby. But I do it so no one who is due before me or when I'm due likes it and takes it and it seem like I may have copied them or they copied me. When my first was due there were 3 other people due around the same time and all of them named their boys Jace.  Luckily that isn't even in my top 1,000 names to choose from lol.

I only told people who asked, otherwise I didn't bring it up. We're already getting some weird looks for our boy choice but dh and I both love the name and that's all that matters to me!

I didn't have facebook or anything like that when I was pregnant with DD1, DD2 was right away I think lol, and this one not until we knew the gender for sure, so at 25 weeks.

And I like Roman James! who cares what people think, it's not like it's a common ass name like Aiden or something awful. 38

I announced DS1 before knowing the sex38, DD wasn't until she was born because I wasn't 100% set on a name and DS2 I announced his first name only when I found out the sex.
