This is my first baby and I can't decide If I should circumcise him or not? What are some pro/cons? Does anyone regret doing it, or wish they had?

It's really cosmetic only. There are no real proven health benefits to doing it but a lot of perception that it's somehow cleaner. I do not regret circing all three of our boys.

I'm not doing it. Watching the procedure online is enough for me to be firmly against it. Its purely cosmetic.

i have a question for you

why would you want to do a purely cosmetic procedure to a newborn that has no benefical value?

We circumcised and are very happy with it. The decision was based on his dad who is circumcised and we wouldn't have it any other way.
I also kept in mind that my ex-boyfriend was so incredibly embarrassed that he was not circumcised.

What they show online makes it look horrible when it's really not. I've never found anything online that showed exactly what they did when my son was circumcised. He did not cry and there was no blood. It was quick and simple.

To each their own, I suggest looking up the pros and cons for yourself. I mean really EDUCATE yourself on what are benefits and what are non beneficial things on circumcision. I will not circumcise, because I've done my research and I find it unnecessary. To me it is a cosmetic surgery, not a necessary procedure.

Watch some videos then make up your mind. Its a gruesome procedure. My baby had it done yesterday. It was aweful. I'm glad we did it though. Its a pretty personal decision so if you have to ask strangers about it you probably shouldn't do it. They get over it fast. My guy has a plastibel and he's acting and doing everything normal again today. Doesn't even cry when he pees. My choice was based on religious beliefs.

Honestly ....
I regret it. I know he'll be thankful later but when I first had it done I felt extremely guilty.

also check with your insurance some will not cover it because it is viewed as a cosmetic procedures others will only cover it before you leave the hospital but if you leave then change your mind you will have to pay out of pocket

I dont want to for the next boy, SO does. He says its harder for circumcised boys to get AIDS. I havent looked into that yet though so IDK if its true.

We did a lot of research on several sites and read up about it and talked to our doctors, and finally decided that we would circumcise. While it is just a cosmetic thing, there tend to be fewer infection in circumcised boys, though the numbers aren't overwhelming. In addition, in the US there is a very high number of pediatricians, nurses, etc who do not know proper care for an uncirc'd boy's bits. I can't say if we will regret or not because he still won't be born for another month, but I know that we came to our decision through lots of careful thought and made the decision that we thought was best based on that, and that's all anyone can ever do.

well it was horrible for the baby that i watched have it done.

I'm not saying a parent is wrong for doing it, but i am against it. I think their winky's are just fine how god made them. Looking like Daddy isn't a good enough reason for me to alter my sons body. SO is circ'd btw
