Sorry for your loss. after mine I cramped like a bad period and bled some. It was horrible. I was kinda out of it for the rest of the day and just kept falling asleep and cried a lot.
first off Im so sorry for your loss.
When I got mine done yes I was in a bit of pain. Really bad period cramps. The first day I slept most of the day.
good luck hun
:( sorry you're going through this.
My first d&c was easy. I had hardly any cramping and I didn't bleed at all.
My second, I had really bad cramps and bled for almost a week.
When I first woke up I was in a lot of pain but I told the nurse and she quickly shot me up with either Dilaudid or Demeral - can't remember which - but I felt pretty damn good after that. That was the only time I felt pain after having the procedure.
When I had to have mine done I didn't feel a thing after, the procedure was more painful for me. But I did end up sleeping pretty much all day for the next two days unless I was MADE to get up and eat or shower. Of course the meds my doctor gave me for it made me sick but other than that I was fine. I am sorry for your loss it can be difficult to go thru things like this.
I have had 3, my first I was 7wks, my second 12wks and third 9wks. I cramped afterward with all of them, but my 2nd was the worse.
I am sorry about your loss, words can ease what you are feeling right now :-(
Quoting Modern_mom:" I have had 3, my first I was 7wks, my second 12wks and third 9wks. I cramped afterward with all of them, ... [snip!] ... with all of them, but my 2nd was the worse. I am sorry about your loss, words can ease what you are feeling right now :-("
Was it worse because you were further along? I was 14 weeks when I lost this one.
Sorry you are having to go through this. I lost mine at 13w and my doctor wouldn't give me a D&C because she said the baby was too big for that. I had to literally have the baby. But I've heard both ways that a D&C does hurt but not bad while others say it doesn't hurt at all. Good luck with everything and I hope you get to feeling better soon. Again sorry for your loss.
When I had to have mine, I was 12 weeks. I hurt really bad before the procedure, which is actually why I went to the hospital. I had been having bad cramps all day and I started bleeding. They admitted me to the hospital when I got there after they determined the baby had died. The procedure doesn't hurt, they put you under anestesia (know I spelled that wrong, but you know what it's supposed to be) and when they woke me up I had no more pain. They gave me a prescription for pain pills which I filled but I didn't end up needing to take any of them.
First off, I'm sorry for your loss and understand what you're going thru. My husband and I found out on Nov 17, 2011 that our son died in utero, I was 16w5d at the time of the loss. I didn't miscarry until December 6, 2011. I miscarried at home but still needed a D&C because the placenta got retained and I was bleeding a lot.
Like yourself, I was scared smurf-less but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was knocked out, of course. When I first woke up, I was out of it but after a couple of hours I was totally awake. I had very little pain or camping and bled off and on for 3 weeks.
Once again, I'm sorry for your loss. If you need to talk, please feel free to PM me! Good luck sweetie! Sending you tons of hugs!
ohhh i am so really sorry honey!
