- You have ongoing anxiety problems and/or panic attacks (unless hospitals increase your anxiety)
- You receive ongoing medical care for health problems/chronic illness
- You frequently take pain medication
- You feel unable to control your body’s health & fitness
Choosing a hospital birth means you’ll be offered (and potentially pressured into) an array of medical interventions which may interfere with labor by creating undue stress, inhibiting labor-critical mobility and distracting your focus away from your body (such as an IV, EFM, catheters and so on).
Remember: You have the right to deny any test or procedure which you deem medically unnecessary, but be sure to do your research & discuss it with your caregiver beforehand.
