Friendships when you have kids

| | |

Today I got the chance to visit with my childhood best friend for the first time in such a long time. And it was a good reminder as to why we don't get together very much anymore. I have four kids, she has two but her oldest wasn't here this time. These pictures pretty much sum up my day.

And when my kids weren't arguing, crying or misbehaving.......our babies started crying.

By the end of the afternoon, this is what we were praying for.

I don't know how all you other mamas ever get any quality time with friends. I am so ready for bed just so I can have some peace and quiet!!! I knew life would change after having kids and I'm okay with that. But I won't lie, there's some days I crave time to myself.....to be able to sit and have a whole conversation with my best friend without my kids interrupting or having to scream, "Stop that!" or "Get down!" in between words. I would LOVE to be able to just have a girls day out without my kids but both being SAHMs with husbands who work all the time, that's just not a possibility for us unfortunately. :( How do you other ladies manage to do it?
