My 9 year old is Mason Patrick Tyler, He has 2 middle names because his father and I couldnt agree on 1. This one if its a boy will be Grayson Skyler Cole. My husband always called Mason Batman. Whats up Batman? How you doing today,Batman? Thought it was funny. He got Grayson from d**k Grayson i.e. Robin from Batman and Robin. When we named Mason our next son was Going to be Marshall but since my husband calls him Batman we went that way. My girl is Mahaley Lynn Jordyn. Lynn is my familys middle name and I think Lynn Jordyn goes smoothly together. As for Mahaley my husband also came up with that and it stuck but I have yet to have a girl and I believe Im having another boy due to no girls born on my husbands side of the family since 1876. And Mason looks just like his father with a few of my good features, mostly my eye color. My sister doesnt like the name Grayson but idc because its my son and I think its perfect for Masons i.e Batmans little brother. All that matters is that u like it. Kids will be kids and at some point or another everyone has been made fun of wether its about your looks or your name. I had the most boring common name. Michelle Martin. people called me mnm. didnt bother me i like mnms. lol I am married now and thats not my last name anymore but still. I have always been a big girl too. When I was in high school I lost like 40 pounds but have always had big b**bs and I never wore revealing things so it looked like i was still big but I weighed like 130. Point is do what u want, what makes u happy. Its your baby. Congrats to all the mommies!!
I disagree. My name is Skylar and I'm a girl and clearly I look like a girl and talk like a girl. In 6th grade most girls dont have b**bs, I was one that didn't and everyone still knew I was a girl!!! And why would people want their children's names spelled the same way as 3 million other people in the world? Being unique is great, and I'm glad my name is Skylar. Yes it is a boys name too and usually spelled skyler but my name is unique and I love it everyone tells me how pretty my name is and the spelling too. I have a son named Ryan and a daughter on the way and her name is going to be Airynn. The spelling is different but it's pretty and girly and Erin is just plain and boring.
Found out we are having a boy so his name will be Christian.

Forgive me for throwing my two cents out there, but I believe that parents can name their kid WHATEVER they want. If the name is reasonable, of course. Nothing like "Adolf Hitler" or "doighsdkfjsjkghturej" (Literally, google it. There's a couple that named their kids a bunch of letters.)
I think it's important for the parents to teach their child to embrace their name. Just because you're flat or if you're muscular/athletic, it does not give ANYONE the right to make fun of you.

I agree. Definitely don't let people change your mind about the name you love, they don't have to live with it. That is what pisses me off, when people get so offended when you tell them what your naming your child and say something super inappropriate like "why the hell would you name your kid that? That is a horrible name!" It's not like they have to use it too. And its OK to be unique, arent we all unique anyways? And when certain names started were they popular right off the bat, or did time make them that way? Not saying I like all names but who does?
Its very simple to find a good and unique name with the help of Emma's Diary. I have also used this to select the name of my first baby. I think this will help you lot. You can find out various name suggestions from huge database.

i need some help in the name department. my boyfriend and i have picked out the perfect girls name. if it a boy tho he wants to give the baby his fathers exact name. me his mother and my mother all believe it is a bad idea. one name or the other would b ok. his father did some stupid things and i dont want my son having to live knowing thats who he was named after and feeling badly about it. how can i gently bring this up to my boyfriend w/o hurting him or making him angry?
Just sit him down and explain to him that you don't feel right giving your son 100% of his dads name when your father has been there for you and your not naming your son after him
Quoting Letah:" Lets Hijack my girlfriends login. Wow, I am actually reading through stuff, amazing. Let me add my 2 ... [snip!] ... down a lot. If you dont like it after that, then dont use it. Find another and try that. Being creative is what lifes about."
Logan makes me think of wolverine too, I freaking love it. Wolverine rocks. ( It's where the James in my 3rd son's name comes from actually, wolverine is James Logan, Logan was his last name but it's way too popular here, I didn't want him to be one of 4 in his class, my middle son is already cursed with a super popular name b/c his dad found out that there were more girl Taylor's than boys so I "had" to change his name last minute, didn't check the charts!)

Tell him you think the baby deserves to have his own name.
Are Abigail and Amelia too matchy? Abigail's always shortened to Abby, and I'd most likely shorten Amelia to Mia.
Can anybody help me out??

I know I'm late, but no, I don't think they're even similar.
