When should a kid stop using a booster seat. I still have my oldestson in a booster seat but I think he may be getting to old for one. I'm not sure. None of his classmates use them. He's going to be in 2nd grade. I'm pretty sure he's big enough to be out of one. I just wanted to find out what the regulations are before I stop using one.
I think it's 4'9" or 8 years old.
They vary by state. Here in Utah is age 8 or 80 lbs which ever comes first and I think height wise its 4'9
What state are you from? .
4' 9" or 8 years old. Whichever comes first.
My nephew will be 9 in July...he weighs 79lbs...and is the height limit..however, we went to a thing called kids day in the park, and they did the car seat thing.
Your child has to be sitting completely back against the seat. meaning hips and all, L angle. The bend in there knees should be perfectly even with the drop of the seat, and the seatbelt should NOT touch there neck area. Regardless of the weight/height limit. If they cant sit properly in the seat at a L angle, with the bend of their knees at the edge of the seat, then they arent ready to be out of the booster.
The ladies granddaughter was going on 11 years old..and was still using a booster, because she didnt fit properly outside of the booster.
