How to encourage contractions? JessandFin Due November 11; 1 child; London, United Kingdom 2244 posts

I've been having on/off contractions since yesterday and they are definately getting stronger and have been for the last few hours....but because they're still so sporadic I'm scared they're just going to go away! Look at my due date and you can imagine i'm keen for them to continue :D So my question is, what will help more; staying on my feet/staying active, or lying down and resting. Weirdly they seem stronger when I sit or lie down, but I've heard mixed things about how to encourage them. I also realise I don't have a great deal of control over them either way, but any advise would be greatly appreciated! :)

Walk. Everytime m contractions slowed I did a lap around my apartment complex and they started right back up.

One of the OB nurses at my hospital I will deliver at told me that if you take a warm comfy bath, it can make labor come on stronger. But if the contractions are just BH still, it will make them stop.

Also, n****e stimulation....as far as I'm concerned it would be okay since you are past due. If you have a pump you can use the pump, and if not you would stimulate them the same way you would hand express milk or colostrum. 15 minutes on each side, and then repeat several times over several hours.
