Mole on areola... help please! NikkiLeAnne 4 kids; Illinois 3576 posts

I'm hoping there's some nurses on here who might have insight. I have a symmetrical mole on my areola and it has little black specks in it. And I have 3 or 4 random black specks on that same areola. I am almost 5 months post partum with baby number 4. I'm not sure if this is normal or if I should be worried. Let's face it. I'm freaking out. Can anyone out there calm my worries? :(

Anything suspicious on the breast (or anywhere, really), please just get it checked out! It could be absolutely nothing but it’s there and it’s alarming you so I say call and schedule an appt.

Are you breastfeeding?

I agree! I have had many moles and spots that freaked me out but turned out to be absolutely nothing. It is so reassuring to just have a doc say you are a-okay.

I only breastfed for a few weeks. I'm calling tomorrow to get an appointment. I'm so terrified :(

It's better to get it checked but I totally understand being scared! You just never know with moles. Hopefully it's nothing!

Thanks for the replies ladies! I had it looked at and the doctor agreed it didn't look right so I go in on the 13th to have it removed and sent off for testing. Send positive thoughts please

Wishing you luck! Hopefully you don't have to wait too long to hear back about it. My husband had surgery earlier this year to remove a tumor. We had the results within a week or so. I know it was less than two weeks for sure. It ended up being non cancerous but the wait to find out was torture!

I had a suspicious mole on my back removed and tested. It ended up being a bad one but since they were able to remove the whole thing no other actions were needed.

Update:

I had the mole removed and they sent it to be checked out. And it was NON-cancerous. Thanks for pushing me to get it checked out :)
