Measuring behind on ultrasound andrea412 Due November 1; 2 kids; United States 32 posts

Need some advice, hopefully i can explain all this and it make sense.
I went to the dr for an ultrasound on 02/09-she said i was ovulating or should ovulate in the next day or so.. we had sex the 9th and not again until the 13th. I got a faint positive pregnancy test on the 20th of February and confirmed the next day with a blood test (my HCG was only 10) my levels have continued to rise normally but i found out my progesterone was low (at an 8) last week so they put me on progesterone, well on Wednesday I had some spotting and it continued until Thursday so I went in, The checked my levels and they were over 10,000 at this point i should have been 6 weeks exactly.. i just read the ultrasound report and it says the sac and yolk were present but measuring 5 weeks 1 day. No fetal pole or heart tones were present... but 5 weeks 1 day is almost a week behind and i would have found out i was pregnant like a week after intercourse.. is that even possible? I have a follow up ultrasound today but now i am super nervous. I have waited years to have another child and i am so scared something i going to go wrong.

Any advice??

I measured a week behind as well. When I was 5 weeks they didn’t see anything on the ultrasound, not even a sac. I went back a week later and there was a sac with a yolk inside but no fetal pole. Then I went back a week later and there babe was! Healthy with a heartbeat. Also I’m 15 weeks tomorrow with a healthy little one now. I hope this helps you.

Actually the math sounds pretty accurate to me.  You would have found out you were pregnant via your hpt on around 8 or 9dpo. If anything you might be measuring a few days off, which at that stage really doesn't mean much. Two different people could do the measurements and come with two different numbers because it's super tiny. I wouldn't worry too much about it <3

Takes a few days for the sperm to actually get to the egg keep that in mind, and also it's normal the measurements to be a little off.

Congratulations and good luck!
