My husband has been extremely picky. I feel like I've been through all names in existence a few times over. Voiced any ones I find at least as a maybe. Got a lot of "no" a few maybes that changed to no.
Finally got an "hmm I like it". He's still playing around not saying definitely.

Our first LO is Arthur Vincent

Anyhow... the name is old German, it has a couple spellings. I'm very leaning towards one.

The name is
Reiner. (More popularly spelt Rainer). But I'm not sure I want it spelt exactly like the weather it sounds like.

I'm German / Irish. 1/4 German aristocracy. My husband has both those and more in his heritage. With a long complicated Dutch last name.

I'm considering Reiner Patrick, get some Irish in there lol. When I was spinning my wheels my mom said to think of people in my life so I started looking at German names. I'd been through Irish ones a hundred times. I grew up mostly around my large Irish half of family, but loved my Oma very much. Even if her english was a bit difficult to understand lol.

Its a bit of a rare name, my mom loves it. My dad might be a pain. Looking for Opinions before I can finally relax and stop all the searching. And twist my husband's arm to finalize it. :p

I lived in WA, so it makes me think of Mt. Rainer. I also knew a boy named that in school. People called him “reindeer.”

Even if it is spelled different it reminds me of the beer. Rainier.

Tiernan Lorcan is not pronounced "they are." 38

Cathair needs no explanation. 38

Odhran would be better as Orrin or Oran in the US.
