What's your stance on them? None at all? Only games rated E? Do you wait until they're a certain age? Are there some games that you feel are okay but won't budge on others?

My 8 year old just got minecraft not that long ago. He doesn't really have any interest in a lot of video games though. I personally don't see a need to play them. I see so many children that sit for hours and play games. I think it's sad.

DD will be 5 in July and doesn't play any. I don't really have a stance per se, but everything in moderation, I guess? I don't see myself buying any for my kids any time soon, but that's a personal choice.

Yeah, pretty much this. There's loads of other and better things to do, I find them unnecessary.

My kids are too young, imo. Ill allow them when they ask about them (school age, i assume) and ill research them and decide which games i find appropriate. Ive never been a gamer personally, so i dont have a clue what games are even out there.

We're definitely a gaming family. I started letting my son play Mario Kart on the Wii when he was 2. He's 5 now and we like playing COD together, as well as Mortal Kombat, Tony Hawk, the Lego games, and of course the Mario games..Smash Bros, etc. I allow COD only on offline multiplayer and won't allow him to play the campaign mode. However, I would not allow games like Grand Theft Auto probably ever. We just like to play games. Video games, board games, card games, outdoor games...he's always been very mature and bright for his age though. If he were a different kind of kid my stance would probably be different.

I started at age 5 I believe on the original Nintendo and also had the original Gameboy..then the Sega, N64, Nintendo DS, and I believe the PlayStation 2 and the Wii were the last ones my mother bought for me lol. It's something I've always enjoyed doing alone and with friends to this day.

I played video games as a kid and so does my 8 year old. He'll be 9 in July. We do limit his time. But if he wants to play all night on a weekend after we're all asleep I am ok with it. But, he's usually out by 11 at the latest unless a friend spends the night.

I don't overly censor my kid at all. He watches the Walking Dead with us 38

Age appropriate games only for the kids. My youngest is too little to play them.

I let my kids play but we limit time and censor. We don't let our kids play things like CoD until age suggested times but we also don't allow PG13 movies until 13, etc.

My kids have tablets and play games on those but they both have parental locks so they can't download anything without permission. Also my 5 yo can only watch "kidstube" instead of youtube but my 9 yo has a cellphone so she watches regular youtube from that. But I go through her history and check her texts, calls, ect.

I personally would prefer none at all. I am not a fan of technology/videogames etc at all, and not just for kids. However, my SO is pretty decently into videogames so i compromise and let the older two (5&3) play certain games on tablets. Like thomas the train, or some "educational" games. Very rarely do they play on a gaming system like xbox, and then only with their dad. They play plants vs zombies, some stupid goat simulator game where you just run around as a goat, and my 5y/o will occasionally be allowed to play legend of cora, which is some kind of fighting game, similar to but not as...violent/bloody as mortal combat.
