My baby has to have surgery to correct her lazy eye.  The doctor is having us patch it for 2 weeks to see if there's any improvement (it has to get a little better before they do surgery) and he said if there's no improvement we'll stretch it out an additional 2 weeks to see if that helps.  If there's no improvement over the next month, she has to get her eyes dilated again and possibly have a scan done to check for nerve damage or tumors  =( and I have a family history of both,  so I'm a little nervous but trying to stay optimistic. And my MIL had her MRI done to check out her liver today to confirm whether her cancer is stage 3 or 4, so we'll know the results tomorrow.  Really praying that it's not spread so they can still treat it. So not ready  to lose this lady yet =(

Hugs momma!

I have questions about the lazy eye. Please don't answer if you don't want to....you have a lot going on. My 7m old has a very slight lazy eye....you don't notice it unless you carefully watch her track something. I haven't taken her to an eye dr yet because she is so little.

How bad bad is your baby's eye? When did she first see an eye dr? Does she have glasses? Sorry....just curious. I don't know much about this....my second oldest just got glasses....she almost couldn't see out of one eye. I didn't know :( she is only 4.

Her eye is all the way turned in toward her nose about 90% of the day and the color part of her eye is touching the corner.   We didn't really notice it til she was about 11mo, her pediatrician referred her to the specialist when she was 15mo and she's now 17mo. She did have glasses briefly, but she doesn't have the kind of lazy eye that is fixed by glasses, it was just a trial thing.

Thank you!  It's a really common surgery but the thought of it is still terrifying to me

I completely understand. I'd be worried sick too.
