Switch from a convertible carseat to a harness booster? DD is almost 3 and her legs dont have much room anymore in the convertible seat because she's tall. DH is tall too so the front seat has to be way back and her legs/feet look super uncomfortable all squished in there. Would you switch her yet?

No, I would absolutely not switch her before she's 4. My kids were 5 and 6 when we switched them. They're 7 and 9 now and still in boosters.

Sounds like you need a bigger vehicle if your husband is too big to be comfortable in the front though.

Can't she sit behind the passenger seat? Might have more room there. DH is very tall with very long legs, so I get it, but boosters before three doesn't sound like a great idea.

Dd2 and Ds2 are both still in a convertible car seat. Won't be switching them for a while. You might need a bigger vehicle if dh and DD aren't able to fit both comfortably.

I keep the passenger seat folded down to get DS1 in the 3rd row. I cant fit all 3 car seats in the middle row (2 convertible and one infant seat).

My first was 4 or 4 1/2. He is pretty tall for his age also.

DD was 4 1/2 when we switched her. DS is so skinny he'll stay until he's at least 5 lol

DD was around 4, too. She's a tall girl.

I dont mind keeping her in it because i dont want to buy a new carseat for her til DS2 needs a convertible and i put him in hers. I just know a lot of people that have already switched kids younger than her to the harness booster so i wasnt sure when to do it.

Legit shops here that sell car seats will want the child in to fit them and see if they're tall enough to be in one safely. They'll also fit it in your car and make sure they're safe there, too. At 4 when DD was getting it, they were hesitant because of her age. We were very happy to bring her in and make sure she should be sitting in a high-back booster, which is what she has. She's a tall girl, so it was fine. I can't imagine a 2 year old meeting the safety requirements.

Also, other people are not very good indicator of what's safe. I know people who fwd face from 9 months. People make a lot of stupid/uninformed decisions.

5 almost 6 is when I switched my oldest child. Now, he's almost 9 and doesn't really need it anymore.

3 is definitely too young
