How to stop watching the clock? Addi&Aria'smama 2 kids; 1 angel baby; Florissant, Missouri 8261 posts

I just ran/walked a mile. I am working up to 2 but I can't stop watching the clock. I just can't get my mind into it. I am just thinking about all the stuff I have to do and need to do. I use to enjoy running. Now my mind just races when I am doing it then I start thinking about how stupid I was to let myself go this much because it is so hard to go back.

Music works well for me when I'm doing cardio. I could lift weights all day in silence and feel great lol but with cardio I need music to move to

I agree with the music. I tend to let my mind wander when i jog, which can kill the mood. Singing along in my head to music helps me stay focused on the task.

Thanks I usually put on music but maybe earbuds will help focus me. Right now I just set my phone on the treadmill and go.

Uggghhhh treadmills are the worst lol.  I can't use treadmills...  Mostly because it's too boring for me but also because they kill my knees .  I like my stationary bike though... But I still gotta have my music cranking lol!

Also, just thinking about it some more, some days I'll take an extra towel (hand towel) to the gym so I can put it over the clock part so I can't see it, most times I pull it off and I'm like wow, didn't realize it had been that long, ha! Just another thought Mid Happy

Ps, how's your eczema?

That's a good idea. I will have to try that.

I had 2 really good days no itching or anything then this morning woke up itching like crazy with a new huge red patch on my side. I just put the cream on so hopefully that helps.

TV! lol. i'd watch garbage/reality TV and it would hold my interest long enough that by time the show was over.... it had been half hour or however long the show is.   Netflix is even better, no commercials. lol.
