he passed away in 2016, and my mom got one $500 check i believe from social security.

Now she just got this letter: (for whatever reason its not posting) plslook at the post below this one, i got it to post.

basically had some pages to fill out with her info and her kids info.
It says it'll process everything within 2 weeks. What should i expect? How much longer does this take? If it's from a house he owned is the amount divided up by how many family members there are? Any info is appreciated.

Looks like the letter just asks if you guystill or anyone in the family are going to protest the will or take it to probate court to determine who gets what from the sale of the property.  Is there a will? What does it say? Was there a loan on the house? Was the loan less then the house is worth?

My grandpa does in November 2015, and due to my aunts and uncle fighting the whole time nothing is getting settled, and it should go to probate soon.  Just to hear we won't get anything.

that's what's going to happen for sure, my aunt is already calling my mom saying she better not fight her in court. He had a will but left her as his payee and executor(?). She got herself a 60,000 wedding already and right after he passed used his credit cards to buy stuff.

she's gonna make sure we don't get anything.

Yep. There won't be much for you guys to do he put her in charge she gets to do what she wants.  Lawyers charge a lot to fight these things because they take years and years.

I told my parents to remove me from their will. Its not worth fighting over crap. I was super hurt the way my mom lied to me about it too. Imo theres no point fighting about it. In the end of the day its just money. Id at least try and get something that is sentimental and imoortant to you guys.
