Spring break activities Dee♡ 2 kids; 1 angel baby; .., IN, United States 5854 posts

I need some ideas on free or extremely inexpensive spring break activities.

It's storming today so we haven't gone outside to play. We colored and drew pictures this morning and SS has been napping all afternoon. I plan on board games later. We have SS for the next two weeks and I'm afraid we're all going to go stir crazy and drive each other up the wall of we don't find things to do.

I thought about the library, but I'm afraid the two older ones are too loud and obnoxious (more the 4 y/o). The only free museum nearby is a jail museum. The rest are an hour+ away and cost an arm and a leg. There's a free zoo about 45 mins away, but idk how comfortable I feel taking all 3 to a zoo by myself. I'm trying to look up local kid's activities, but I'm not finding any.

HELP. Lol

Make play dough. Build forts with blankets.

Baking, make bird feeders (we are making some by putting peanut butter on toilet paper rolls and covering it with seed), red light green light, hide and seek.

Soft play. If it's dry, I find that simple walks - or bike/scooter rides - are amazing at getting them tired out and they can't get too loud or crazy outside, running around the countryside. It's expected!

I'm hoping to be outside a lot! I know there's more rain in the forecast, but hopefully we'll have some dry days so we can get out and run.

Ohhh, I think I've got some bird seed. That'll be a good one! So long as the kids don't eat all the peanut butter lol

I always take the kids to eat somewhere that has a play place when the weather is shitty and need to get out of the house.

A playground game. Everyone lines up. One person stands in front of them and will yell "red light" or "green light". Run when it's green and freeze when it's red. If you move during a red light, you're out.
(At least that's how I remember playing 20 yrs ago lol)

If its not too cold i would still take them outside if its raining, unless its stormy and heavy rain. A let them have a splash time or something, then have hot chocolate when they come in.

We do it sometimes. They get really muddy and cold after a while, but my kids love it.

That's pretty much it. We always played if you moved during the red light you had to go back to the starting line. Whoever reaches you first wins!

All we have is a strip mall. We live in a podunk town, on the outskirts of a small, podunk "city" lol there's nothing to do here. You have to drive 1+ hour just to do anything new or fun. We are a little over an hour from a major city. They have a huge zoo and a children's museum but both cost $20+ per person and we're trying not to splurge on anything like that right now.
