Doctor wants to induce me at 40 weeks CodingMommyAsh Due March 21 (girl); 2 kids; 1 angel baby; Japan 357 posts

At my last appointment my doctor said it would be best to induce me at around 40 (39 weeks and 6 days now)  just because I have a history of delivering quickly and live far from the hospital. I'm scared because I don't want to be induced.

should I just wait to go for the induction. The doctor said it would be best but the baby at this point is in no danger. I was walking the entire week hoping I'd become more dilated but nothing.

should I go for inducing or just wait?
I don't want to end up having a c section. I delivered by 2 other babies on my own.

When you say far from the hospital, how far is far? And quickly is quickly?

I have very fast labors, and live about 45 minutes from the hospital. My first two were 3 and 3.5 hours labors. My third was 1 hr 45 minutes labor.
i was always told to call at first sign, or even if i just felt "off" to have the dr/midwife assess over the phone.

How far and how quick? My last labor was an hour and 20 minutes. Half of that was spent driving to the hospital. I would tell the doctor to forget about it, that I was going into labor naturally.

And this may be stupid but I would rather give birth in my car on the way than be induced but I have done all my births naturally.

I wouldn't. Pitocin and all that stuff sucks.

I would never be induced unless absolutely necessary. Pitocin sucks so bad and if your body isnt ready the chance of it failing is pretty high

First baby labor from the start of contractions to birth was 3.5 hrs.

second was 1 hr and 30 minutes. Gave birth 10 minutes after arriving at the hospital. Almost gave birth in the hallway :/

I live about 40 minutes to the hospital. About 20 miles away.

I read and heard. That's why I'm so scared to be induced.
