Is there an average amount that most people (with decent credit) are approved for?

When we went, they went over all of our bank stuff, credit reports, and income... and said they would literally approve us for anything we wanted but if we screwed up, we'd be screwed for a long time.

The house we were looking at the time was like $259k but we opted against it.

What are they looking for in your bank account exactly?

They told us a positive and consistent balance. So whether you always have $500 left over in your checking account or $2500 it doesn't necessarily matter, as long as consistent and not negative. We don't usually keep a high balance in our checking, otherwise I go to Target lol.

They also looked at our savings to make sure there was some, lol.

They wanted 4 months worth of statements.

I don't think so....it is based on your income, what you can afford. BUT the maximum amount they give you a loan for is normally too much imo...you could afford the mortgage payments...but then you'd be house poor and not have money for other stuff like new cars, vacations, preschool etc....

Possibly Columbia or Rutgers. I'd rather not live in NJ though lol. But either will do

The price! You can probably get a one bedroom apartment for that money here, haha.

That is a damn good price for a newly built home. Surprised Here, it would probably be close to 800k. Not joking. I have also seen houses in the historic district on the other side of the county go for 1 mil that are close to this style.

I think it's just proposed house plans which is why it seems so cheap...

MO is def cheap compared to a lot though.
