How long do you have you tott sit on the potty when training? A few mins or until they get fussy or until they go potty?? I take him every 30 minutes and I just wasn't sure how long to keep him on it.

No longer than they're happy with. You don't want them to develop an aversion. Keep potty a happy place! :)

I didn't take mine on a schedule to the potty. I waited until I saw signs they needed to go, then I dropped whatever I was doing and dragged them through the house like a maniac to the toilet. 38

I don't think so..he's still pretty young, I wouldn't force it.

This. My daughter will be 3 in June but i am definitely not pushing it on her. She says she knows how and has gone on the toilet once but i am not in a hurry to train her or wanting to make the bathroom scary because she has to sit there all the time until she goes

I didn't force it. When I peed, he followed me and would sit on his chair too. I guess it helped that I was pregnant and peed often. He pretty much just got the hang of knowing when he had to pee. One day I just put big boy undies on him and told him not to get them dirty or wet. He was fully potty trained within a month, pooping took a little longer because he was a hide-n-squat kind of kid.... but he eventually got the hang of it.

Just literally did this. Got my 3 year old trained in about a month as well. I go about every 2 hrs (7 months pregnant) so i just took him with me. After a week of him going I put underwear on him and told him that big boys dont poop or pee in their underwear. He had 2 accidents on day 1 and one accident about a week ago. It was first thing in the morning and I think he couldnt make it in time.

we just mastered nap time. we're still working on overnights.  I haven't even really tried over night, to be honest. i'm just so proud of him for how easy it was to get rid of diapers, lol. he drinks far too much in the evenings to even give it a fair try.

With my son he had to go on his own terms. He was good for almost a month and i found out i was pregnant and he hust quit. After that he had to decide when to go. He would potty for the sitter but only her. He has now been trained almost 1 month again.
