bad mom moment..... Have Heart 2 kids; 2 angel babies; Western, NY, United States 8950 posts

Landen got his 2m shots this morning around 11. they gave him Tylenol with the shots. he slept like all day.

well, he's been super fussy. I took his temp.... 100.4, so I'm like "ok, low grade temp".
I called pediatrician and waited for them to call me back.
meanwhile, I noticed I had infants motrin in the cupboard also. figuring that he's 14lbs and side of box said 12-15lbs, I went for it. then, pediatrician calls back telling me the Tylenol dosage. Then goes on to say ABSOLUTELY NO MOTRIN.... so I was awkwardly like "ok bye".

ugh.
somebody tell me he's fine... and go ahead and mommy shame me

:(

but for real, will he be fine?

google is telling me a 2 month old's kidney's can't process it or something.

Is that like ibuprofen? I think they don't recommend it before three months here, but I can't imagine one dose doing much harm?

Does he have a condition that would make  ibuprofen inadvisable?

I wouldn't worry too much over one dose but you might want to call your pedi back just to ease your mind.

I wouldn't worry about 1 dose. The likelihood of a reaction is slim. Just don't give him anymore. Hope he feels better.  Idk if you have apple or android but they have a Kid care app which gives you medication dosages and when to call the doctor. Stuff like that. I love it.

One dose probably won't do anything but def no more until after 6 mos.

I'll look into that!

SO's like.... you should remember these things from DS1... and I don't. Crazy how much you forget in only 2 1/2 yrs, lol.
