The protests Milk Machine ✌ 3 kids; 1 angel baby; ,, ,, United States 19209 posts

Yes I'm going to start this haha

For or against Trump is not really the subject but

Do you think the treatment and protests against our President Elect is right or ok?
I'm speaking mainly to US voters but chime in too if you're outside of the country

I'm just trying to see the general feeling on here

My personal opinion is probably not popular since Obama was like a favorite to many but here it is

Obama was not MY choice 2, 4 year terms and each I voted against him however I accepted him as my president because I had lost. Romney according to many legitimate polls had the popular vote however I accept our voting process. So I moved on with life got my taxes extremely raised, my medical extremely raised and many policies I disagreed with.

I guess I don't agree with how it's being handled because he won the presidency and I accept that whether I wanted him to or not and just today hearing that the bands wouldn't be playing at his inauguration for the first time ever I thought was pretty silly.

What is your opinion?
and since this has been an extremely heated and mean race lets try to be respectful even though it is BG haha 38

I just read this article and I have to agree with it;

I find it disgusting to have such a "human" represent us/lead

At what point though should we show respect though
do we just always protest?
genuinely curious

Protests are still happening? Damn 38

I don't like Trump, I think he's a d**k lol, BUT yeah, move on. I really doubt he's going to do everything he said he was going to do. 38

Our prime minister just resigned (GOOD!) after like 9 years, every 3 years he would win the election, lots would be angry, but there were no protects, or any carry on like that... John Key was a d**k head as well.

The point of no return.

I do not view him as my president, nor do I respect him however I respect our country. We have no other choice but to accept it but we do have the choice to ensure it never happens again or to change the things we can change. He does NOT have the final say on all matters, those are the things we need to focus on (the things we can change).

Protesting is pointless. However action is not.

I think he represents some pretty despicable vile views that go so far against people's core values that it's very easy for me to understand why the entertainers would refuse to perform at his inauguration or why people in general wouldn't want to be associated with him.

Protests are futile, I'm afraid. Unfortunately, people will just have to get on with this sad state of affairs.

I think it's silly to protest his presidency, but it's definetly within our country's rights. So as long as people are actually protesting and not using it as an excuse to riot and steal, go ahead.

Im not a Trump fan, but I've accepted the fact that he is going to be our president. I believe that people who are not Trump
supporters should hope their senators and representatives have their best interests in mind, and if not, elect different ones. The president really does not have as much power as people think. They often forget about the House and Senate.

Protesting is stupid. He won so it's time for people to accept it. We don't always get what we want in life and have to make the best of it. It seems people these days are babies and just want to find something to cry about

I feel that the protests will continue just like they did with Obama. So many people were up in arms about Obama and it continued through his 1st term as president. The only difference was social media wasnt as big when his 1st term started as it is now. So many people wanted Obama out of office and a lot of racial nonsense started and it never truly got resolved. Now we have a rich white man thats soon to be in office and I fear nothing will get better. We needed a change in office and Trump sure isnt what we needed but hes what we got :/ Now just to get these 4 years over with and pick up the pieces afterwards.

I heard them say this is the first time in history that that certain band wouldn't play for a president's inauguration since that tradition was started. Not sure of that fact I'd have to research it

That being said, if the people who really detested Obama did the same would that have been ok?

I'm not trying to excuse Trump here btw lol

I think there's a difference with him in that you may not have agreed with Obama on any of his policies and you might think he's not been a good president, which is fine. With Trump, we're not talking about a different side of the isle or disagreement over the issues; we're talking about a fundamentally hateful exclusionist ideology, a mindset, that he is purposefully perpetrating and that has been validated by him being elected. I think therein lies the difference, and people want no part of it.
