I'm reading a book and the main character lives in Oregon and rides a motorcycle.  Only she calls it a motorbike.....  I've never heard of anyone calling it that before and I'm wondering if maybe the author is from a different country, maybe British?   Anyone have any ideas, just for fun, or anyone from America call them motorbikes?

If you want to cheat and google the author, it's Karina Halle.

When I hear motor bike i think of those bicycles with a motor strapped to them lol...They're actually quite popular here in cali, and I'm close to the Oregon border.

Yeah, that is literally what I thought at first, but no....it's a motorcycle.  She even rides it to Seattle in December......I just find the whole thin to be a little ridiculous, lol.

Yeah they are definitely motorbikes in the UK. Do you not call bikers...bikers then? Like groups of men, all in leather, driving around the country on their bikes? Like hell's angels type. I don't know how to explain myself :(
