Yep! Just our co pay was $11,000. I'm surprised it wasn't more since dd stayed for 2 weeks. I am not looking forward to the hospital bill this time either.

This. I wouldn't even pay $25 for a private room when I had DD.

I didn't even have to pay for a private room lol. The only thing we need to pay for here is cable if we want it in our room. 13 Bucks a day lol.

Lol, ok I'm not that thrifty...

Lol the choice was between a room to myself for $25 or a room with 1 other mama for free. Having other people in the room wasn't a huge issue for me at the time Tongue

Not here! I didn't get one the first night I was there because I didn't have baby with me in the room, but as soon as I got her the next day, they moved me into a private room.

most provinces do pay monthly premiums based on income, it's not exactly free.  Unless you're under the poverty line (used to be 22,000 a year, not sure what it is now) then you do mandatorily have to pay monthly depending on your province, although I believe all of AB is free for a variety of reasons

Well eff the hospital I delivered at then! Oh well. The other mom was quiet and easy to get along with, so I suppose I can't complain.
