I'm just curious how many people have gotten pregnant while breastfeeding? I had maybe 3 periods then got pregnant when ds was ten months. Did you get your period back before you got pregnant? Were you trying? Just curious to hear similar experiences.

got pregnant while breastfeeding when my second daughter was 5 months old, miscarried, didn't get my first pp period until I was 9 months pp. Got pregnant again when she was around 15-16 months old and had to wean her off due to history of preterm labor and miscarriage.

Does breastfeeding increase your risks, since you have a history of preterm labor and miscarriage?

yeah. That's what my high risk drs all told me. I also have an "irritable uterus" and an incompetent cervix to deal with when pregnant, so the risks out weighed it all. I would get super painful contractions when I nursed, that's how I knew I was pregnant that first time... I kept getting negative urine tests, but the blood test showed my levels at 28 and then two days later they were 0 and my body just reabsorbed the cells. (it never got far enough to be seen on an ultrasound, not even a sac).

I've gotten pregnant while breastfeeding 3 times now. The first time, I hadn't had my period return yet and it ended in loss..the second time, I'd had my period for 3 months. This time, I'd had my period for about 6 months.

Took us 10 months to get pregnant while breastfeeding, we were trying. I had my 1st period at 13 months pp and my 2nd at 15 months and then got pregnant after that one. DS is still breastfeeding now too while I'm 27 weeks pregnant, apart from losing my supply it hasn't affected the pregnancy at all.

I got pregnant while breastfeeding my now 2 yr old. My cycles started back up in April (he was 14 months old) and I had a period April, June and July...conceived in July...I am due on April 16th. It was a HUGE shock, we weren't using bc, but were doing "pull and pray" method...obivously that doesnt work lol

I've had my period for 6 months now. Ds is 15 months old and I've been ttc for the last 5 months. I'm trying to cut out night nursings because the hormone that prevents ovulation is released the most between 1-6 am. So I'm hoping if I night wean I'll get my fertility back

I got pregnant while breastfeeding my 7 month old daughter. Never had a postpartum period prior to that. It's fairly common, but you would think that I was a mystery freak case judging by my doctor's reactions.
