How do you see a baby shower? Do you see it only for a first baby or is it a fun celebration that helps you also prepare for a baby and you'd have one with each baby? Or do you think it's only appropriate for baby's that are several years apart and or different gender?
I had one with all my babies. My last 2 I didn't even want, but people held them for me
I honestly think it varies. In general, I think it is for the first baby, or if you have them far apart/different genders. I never think you should throw it yourself (ever.)
Ill have one with all my babies but its more about a celebration for me. I think it's nice to celebrate every baby and I enjoy getting the whole family together.
I've had 3 girls in the last 4 years. I had a baby showers with my first but not my second. Family/friends brought gifts but we never had a baby shower. We moved to a small new town last year and everyone here is super nice. The church and the school (DH is a teacher) are both having showers for me. I honestly feel a little weird about it bc after all...it's my 3rd girl but they were all excited and said it's their first baby in their town and wanted to do something special. I think it's very sweet of them and apparently it's just something they all like doing bc they also threw a shower for a home town teachers 4th baby lol
I had a baby shower with my oldest daughter but didn't have one with my middle daughter because they are so close in age and I didn't really need anything plus my sister was pregnant at the same time so my mom just focused on throwing her a shower which was no big deal. For my youngest daughter my MIL threw me a shower and I had a shower the women at church threw. There is a 6 year age difference between my middle and youngest daughter so I didn't have anything by that point cause I had given it all away.
I think that baby shower is an equal right that sll kids deserve, and I am also pretending to buy a baby shower sunhat for my sister's little girl. What do you think of this adjustable shampoo hat ,have you ever bought one?

I dont have one of those and honestly I dont think I'd use it either. But if you think she would then get it :)
Right now I am dealing with this and sitting here crying my eyes out because I have had so many people say they was coming to my shower, now Something came up and they can't... Texted my Sis n law and said I was kinda down, didn't think many was going to show up. She said Oh, we will have fun anyways. and besides noone hardly throws showers for the 2nd baby anymore... Ok, Like that helped the way I felt. well, funny how that b***h got a shower with her 2nd littel boy. this is my 2nd little girl... But, I guess she isn't as important as my first one was then?? and it has been 5-6 years since I had my last one and this one was an "oops" so had gotton rid of everything pretty much except the crib, and my rocker. I guess I am more bothered now, because there is SO much stuff we need and I am not working now its all on my hubby and we don't have the extra money to buy alot of stuff. Need diapers more than anything, but I don't have a swing,stroller,boppi/pillow,bouncer,I don't have ANY baby wash, shampoo, mediacal care, No monitors. and this is stuff we need Badly. But, Like I said according to my sis n law "who gives a f**k about the 2nd one anyways" huh?? ...
Ok, sorry if I seem a little pissed, all these prego hormones....

Aww im sorry :( I'd go to your baby shower! Lol baby showers are fun and I LOVE buying baby things. I believe every baby deserves to be celebrated even if that means you and your SO throwing a cook out/shower.
Aww, Thats Sweet. My mom is throwing it for me. My hubby told me not to worry about what his stupied sister said!LOL! I am sure she didn't think of it sounding the way ot did to me when she said it...But, I will have a good time anyways and looking forward to actually putting on makeup and fixing my hair! being a stay at home mom its ususally no makeup and pony tail days. and a couple of people who thought they wouldn't get to come that was sick may get to, if feeling better. So I hope so. Its not so much as far as getting stuff. but, feeling like you have friends. I am a very much people person and love to talk and make new friends, and you have all these poeple on FB and stuff that want to be your friend and know everything about you, but when it comes down to things like this, you see who truely cares. And all this GO GO GO , busy, busy, busy and smart phones, Sports, Exec going on people don't stop of take time to enjoy something like a shower, home party or cookout anymore. And they don't realize what they are missing out on! Thankyou for your survery pole, it really helped me alot to know not everyone thinks like my stupied sis n law!LOL! even though she had a shower also with her 2nd but, I guess that was different... ;)
