I know its normal for babies to get crabby after they've had their shots but my dd is so fussy that its starting to worry me. Usually she's very mellow and only cries to be fed or changed. She had her shots on thursday and about 2 hrs after the leg that they gave her 2 shots in got really red and swollen and she was crying so hard she was gasping for air i finally got her to calm down. Friday and saturday she was just crying non stop nothing would make her happy or content i'm really worried that she may be in pain and having a reaction to the shots im almost to the point where i don't even want to take her to get any more. Is it normal for babies to still be fussy this long after their shots? My son just cried when he got the shots and slept it off afterward so im kinda freaking out
yes it is normal but if she doesn't seem to go back to herself I would call her doctor and let them know what is going on. It is better to be safe that sorry. My oldest DS after he would get his would be fussy for about a day then go back to normal.
Is the leg still swollen and red? Fever? any rash? eating and going potty okay?

its not swollen anymore and no fever or rash but shes been pooping in every diaper for the past few days
Poor baby! Dd was like that after shots the first couple times. And I even split them up so that she only got 2 at a time. After research and a lot of thought I stopped her vaccines altogether. We will revisit the idea later down the road.
Eta: my doc brushed off my concerns as "normal reactions" so that was just another reason to stop the shots.
They told me anything not normal to take them in. Extreme fussiness, lasting fevers...ect

I changed doctors because of that. DD had an allergic reaction the the pertussis vaccine and got a really bad rash and a fever and was screaming bloody murder for 3 days afterwards. I called and they brushed my concerns away like nothing happened. I immediately found another pediatrician and that one figured out immediately what happened and we stopped that vaccine. She get 2-3 vaccines a visit to watch for any more reactions and so far so good she hasn't had any. There is no need to stop vaccines all together. OP it sounds like it could be a bad reaction call the doctor and tell them your concerns. They give these poor babies too many vaccines at a time.
