Quoting TheNuge:" You don't want her to learn another language like Spanish because Dora bugs you?"
no just spanish. she can learn any other language
she can count to 10 in 5 languages, not one of them is spanish(or if it is she doesnt do it in front of me lol)
I don't like calling anything stupid or saying we hate something. I correct him to say something is silly instead of stupid and we dislike something instead of hate.
My 5 year old thinks replacing words with poop is hilarious. Me, not so much. I told him for every time he uses poop in a non-bathroom way, he loses a toy that I get to pick and it gets donated. That pretty much nipped that in the bud the first time it happened.

Why so much dislike for Spanish? Just cause of Dora? I think Spanish is beautiful myself :P

Just Dora lol
When she's older she can learn it, if I could speak it I would teach her but I can't. I just don't want her learning it from Dora. I dot like learning from TV shows in general, prefer hands on learning.

i've never specifically forbade max from saying anything, b/c i figure that'll just make it more exciting to use.
we correct him when he says "hell" ... b/c he mimics his cousin who's 12 and says, "what the hell?" sometimes, and we'll just be like, "heck... what the heck."
but he KNOWS that there are bad words even though we've never discussed it.
we were finishing up the movie "Paul" when he came into the room and as the credits rolled he asked me, "Why didn't the alien say any more bad words?"
b/c paul (voiced by seth rogan) had been cussing up a blue storm throughout, but at the end he was saying goodbye to everyone in a more meaningful less sailor-y way.
i didn't teach him that there were "bad" words, so he must've learned it somewhere!
