I must be a bad mom then because I make Pey eat his dinner and if he doesn't eat dinner with us then it gets put up and when he's hungry later then he can have his food from dinner, nothing else. Unless it's something he truly hates... and he's 2, I don't want him to think he gets separate dinner all the time.

It's ok to do that? I was doing that but my mom said since he is only two it would count as abuse and I needed to feed him something else if he refused to eat the supper I made him.. I just assumed that it was true, is it not?
I just feel like when I make him supper and he doesn't eat it and I give him something else that he probably thinks he is winning because he gets something he wants (usually just a pb&j which he loves) and I worry that will stick and he will do it all the time you know?

That is absolutely not anything remotely close to abuse. It's like eating leftovers. Would she call eating leftovers abuse? It will stick if you continue to do it, because he will learn that if he doesn't want something all he has to do is complain and it will get changed right up for something he does like.

Is he underweight? If he's not, then I wouldn't care. Pey does that sometimes, he will only eat 1 meal a day but eat snacks and small amount throughout the day. As long as he's a healthy weight I wouldn't think it's bad to do

If that whole thing is abuse my kid is screwed. He gets his dinner and he usually feeds it all to the dog. I give him a little bit more, maybe a few bites worth, and if he feeds it to the dog too, tough luck dude. He doesn't get dinner. If he's hungry enough, he'll eat it.
