Today on my FB newsfeed, a mom I regularly talked to that asks me for advice, posted a picture of her 6 month old front facing in an infant carrier.

You did what you could. Can't get through to them all.

The only way that she will learn is if her kid is severely hurt in a car accident.

I FF my 18 month old..Call me ignorant, but that little sucker is smart. She gets out of her car seat in the blink of an eye. Maybe I'm a horrible mother..who knows?!

Quoting .Colleen.:" Doesn't sound like ignorance in this case. More like a total lack of regard for the law and concern for safety"

:!: every bit of this.

I'd tell her just don't be surprised if she gets a ticket for child endangerment if she is ever pulled over. Those seats aren't even made to face that way.

18 mo is a lot different than 6mo in an infant carrier. IMO.

Its not a law in some states to RF until one. As long as the child is over 20 lbs its deemed ok.

I FF my son is 7 months. He screams his head off the whole ride when RFing so when he hit 20lbs (22.9 to be exact) we consulted with his pedi and turned him FFing.

I hate having mommy friends on Facebook. It's like once they become mothers they lose their marbles. I've had mommy "friends" FF their four month olds, give their 6 week olds purees and whole milk instead of formula or BM, drive around with their infant bucket seats forward facing, drive around with ONLY the chest clip buckled - and too low to top it off, etc. "My mom did it with me and I'm fine." My best friend's son's mother did coke and heroin and got drunk while she was pregnant and fortunately her kid came out fine, but that doesn't make it okay to do!

Some people just are stupid! Before my husband had a great job making good money, I had to work 30+ hours a week, which had my mom or my 19 year old sister watching my 3 kids. Now, I found out they weren't using boosters with my 3 and 5 year old and we're actually letting them sit in the front seat, and my 1 year old was using a booster. I had a fit!! Those are my kids and I want them in correct seats! Well... It got so bad to were my parents would lie for my sister or vise a versa about them taking my kids anywhere (they would say they didn't go anywhere) and then I'd find out by my kids they did go places and we're still sitting in no car seats and that Austyn (my one year old) would sit in their booster.
Yeah...... Needless to say, I walked out of work one day because I found out my kids were with my sister a hour from home, in no car seats. I went and got them, and now their not allowed to take my kids.
