Quoting Nicola.:" My fiance can do all of those things. But I still do most of them. He works full time and some overtime ... [snip!] ... of those things and making his life easier. We both have our roles and it works perfectly. Plus, he is the best cuddler ever."
Word :D since we both work and don't take care of kids yet, we just do what needs done on our days off. I was off yesterday and I'm off today, so I cleaned the whole place until he told me to sit down and finished the dishes. So I did his laundry along with mine to thank him :P then he cooked dinner, and I went for wine while it was on the stove. I love it :D
Quoting \m/:" :D"
I mean.. he CAN do all those things, he just chooses not to. I'm seven weeks PP and the other day I started crying to him, telling him I'm having an anxiety overload because I feel like I'm taking care of three kids between the baby, him and the dog. Not even five minutes later he was throwing a load of laundry in the washer and vacuuming the carpets.. but next week he'll be back to his normal, lazy self. I have to constantly have the same conversation with him about how I can't stand being the only one who does anything and it drive me iNsAnE!!!

That's great to hear. So many vents about men on here. Its always refreshing to hear the good stories too!
Quoting SavageDarling:" My husband is pretty awesome like that too but he works FT, goes to school FT, is a fantastic dad and ... [snip!] ... from work so he can stop at the farms he likes for certain things and then the butcher near his work. And he loves to cuddle."
I wish we had options like that here! SO is on a pretty strict diet right now due to training so either he shops or sends me a list and I shop while he's at work. I'd like to go to farmer's markets while it's still the season. We buy enough produce for it to be way worth it.
SO could only make ramen and scrambled eggs when we first got together, though :P I taught him a few things and he figured some others out. I think he just never needed to know how to cook since he lived with his nana and she's like, the best cook ever. I'm proud of him :D:D
Quoting \m/:" Yeah, never understand anybody who would legally bind themselves to a guy who can't even put his socks ... [snip!] ... assistance. I need to brush up on my BJ game before he realizes how awesome he is and feels all unappreciated and junk."
He has a sucky work schedule that took a while for us to get used to, but he still tries to help me out when he can. Like he knows I hate doing dishes, so he'll do them for me out of nowhere. And like Sarah said, with me being a stay at home mom, and him bringing all the money to the house, he has never ever made me feel like I'm somewhat mooching off of him, he always makes me feel appreciated and has in more than one occasion told me that he couldn't do what I do and that he's so thankful he found such a great wife/mother for his children.
That man still makes me feel butterflies in my stomach, 5 years, and 3 kids later.
Quoting ⚓ Sarah ⚓:" My DH does all that stuff and more. I appreciated him before but since joining this website it went to ... [snip!] ... my group of friends on here their spouses are just as great. They work hard at home and at their job but its always balanced."
Being on here definitely makes me appreciate SO more. Same as you, I appreciate him anyway but then I read vents [which...are vents, but still] and I'm just like, "I have really nothing to complain about." The only thing he does that really annoys me is forgetting to hang his towel back up after a shower. He leaves it on the bed instead :x but I can easily hang it up and I don't say anything. He's gorgeous, works hard, has goals and makes sure I'm satisfied. I hope I do the same for him.
I'm glad there are women on here whose SOs are good men!

I agree. I have always appreciated him but reading what a lot of women deal with has made the appreciation even higher.
My complaint is that, for some odd reason, after I get out of bed and up with DS, my fiance manages to get the fitted sheet half way off. It happens almost every day. lol I can't stand the mattress being exposed, especially someone laying on it. But I just fix it and go on because if that's all that bothers me, its a good day.

That is so awesome :D I hate dishes too. I do trash and general cleaning of the apartment so I don't feel like we're off balance. HATE dishes.
Not ready for kids yet but we talk about the future and he's pretty excited about hanging out with them and teaching them and being a good dad. Hopefully our plans work out and I'll be able to be a SAHM for a few years. He's said on many occasions that raising a kid is a full-time job and as long as his job provides, that will be the deal. I know things don't always pan out but I like that he at least feels that way now  but yeah, we've been together almost 7  years and I feel more in love with him today than I think I ever have. We were just kids for the first half of our relationship, puppy love, then hit a rocky patch and I'm so happy that we came through it.

My fitted sheets are forever doing that :x I think it's my doing. I roll around a lot. SO broke the elastic on my good ones so now part of my morning routine is fixing the sheets. DARN :D:lol:

We have one of those extra deep mattresses and sheets never fit it right. I have tried many different ones, and they never fit. I just gave up.
Next mattress will be a normal size, even if I hate it. lol
My husband does that sometimes.. He gets into what I call his "Martha mode" where he literally goes crazy cleaning or cooking. He will scrub our kitchen floor on his hands and knees. He tells me to "Do you know any other man that does this?" lol. BUT he does like to leave trails of his clothes on the floor, or his midnight snack wrappers EVERYWHERE (drive me crazy). He's never been one to do our laundry, but he does a pretty good job with everything else when in his Martha mode lol.
My husband cannot cook to save his life and will spend 100.00 more at the store for the same things I'd get, he's decent at cleaning and laundry, but doesn't do it much.
What he DOES do, is work from home and watch our baby and older kids and that is amazing to me and I am insanely grateful!
We have a good balance in our marriage and try to keep it so one person isn't doing more than the other.
My DH doesn't do any of those things because I do not ask him to. He works really hard to support me and our 3 kids, so the least I can do is keep the house clean. The one thing he will do because he knows I cannot do it, is clean the toilets. I absolutely cannot bring myself to clean toilets. It makes me sick to my stomach.
lol...ya. Sometimes B-G really makes me appreciate what I have.
